STRATEGIC PLAN FOR SOUTH DADE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Community Meeting #3
June 9, 2020
10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
On June 9, 2020, the Economic Development Council (EDC) of South Miami-Dade County, Inc. hosted the third and final community meeting for the creation of the South Dade Economic Development Strategic Plan.
Due to COVID-19 and social distancing safety measures, the meeting was held via Zoom rather than in person as originally planned.
Lambert Advisory presented the strategy, delving into the ramifications of COVID-19 and the shifts included within the plan to address the impact of the pandemic.
The meeting also highlighted the successes of the EDC. Although largely voluntary, the EDC has become the ‘go-to’ group for economic development policies and outreach in South Miami-Dade. The EDC has provided strong advocacy for businesses and building of awareness of South Dade’s economic opportunities and constraints at a countywide level and beyond.
The EDC increased coordination with other economic development-oriented groups and has played a core role in developing the Economic Development Strategy, conducting business despite limited to no funding.
The presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session.
